For Bambino Oven counter top for installation we recommend that you install a “sub-floor” under your oven (typically cast refractory mortar) however this is not required. If you are installing your bambino oven directly onto your granite, marble or tile counter we highly suggest you provide strips of cement “backer-board” under the  bambinO oven to protect your counter tops from “thermal shock” of heat transfer & allow ventilation.  Use wood wedges around oven perimeter to help position strips & oven.  Please review the drawing to the left for reference, arrows indicate recommended places for wood wedges, use oven handles (pictured) or crow-bar to lower oven as wedges are removed.

NOTE: Please check with your kitchen/tile installers that appropriate materials were used to support the weight and temperature of the oven. We always recommend sealing around the bottom of your oven with a good quality silicone caulk.  Water is the enemy of any wood fired oven, you want to keep it out.  Replace silicone caulking as needed.
